Beefier Hardware  and discreet graphics card

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 version is the pricier but faster version of the Air series with obvious reference to the Macbook Air. The 13.3 version offers a beefier Intel Core i5 6200U Dual Core Mobile Chipset and a dedicated discreet Nvidia GT940MX Graphics chip, which means it is faster and offers better gaming experience compared to the 12.5 version.

It also comes with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB Samsung M.2 SATA SSD which offers good write and read speeds. In terms of OS, mostly it will come with Chinese version Windows 10, although there is also a Windows 10 English version but it is unfortunately not activated.

Sapphire Glass and 1080p Screen

The Ultrabook also features a 13.3 inch IPS Panel with only 300 nits brightness (lux), which is not the brightest screen but it is coated with Sapphire Glass making it scratch proof. Even though the 13.3 version is the premium model, it doesn’t have touch screen support and the resolution is only up to 1080p , you will not get a Retina or UHD model here unfortunately.

Dual Band WiFi and USB 3.1 Reversible Port (Quick Charge)

The Mi Notebook Air 13, similar to the 12.5 version is equipped with a very good Dual Band WiFi Support and USB Type C 3.1 reversible Port, which also supports Quick Charging. Inside holds a 5400mAh (40Wh) battery which is rated up to 11 hours, but usage will be entirely situational.

AKG loudspeakers and Glass panel based Touchpad

Other notable features of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13 are the premium made AKG loudspeakers, it also has a glass based touch pad and back lit keybards.

Unfortunately, i didn’t get a chance to review the device personally,  but I am sharing the review made by Techtablets, you can refer to their full review of the video below. On a related note, I will be sharing a short anecdote to his review below. (credits to him)

The Xiaomi MI Notebook 13 is clearly not a gaming notebook, even with the discreet  Graphics on board, it will not be the monster machine you are expecting. Also the Core i5 Dual Core Chip isn’t also great for heavy work. So, what is the purpose of the Mi Notebook 13? It is basically a great travel companion, with a beefed up hardware so you can do a work and play on the go. The thin and light build and premium materials give it a good elegant look, not to mention that it is clearly patterned over the Macbook Air.

There are actually two versions here, but the main difference only lies on the Chip and GPU used. If you are not likely to use it for gaming or more heavier work. The 12.5 version is a rather better choice, it will also offer better thermals, battery life and is cheaper. If you want more power, then the Mi Notebook Air 13 is the next choice, it is however a pricier, but in terms of performance and gaming, it does offer more on the table.
