The Teclast X98 Air 3G gets some needed update, the tablet is now equipped natively with Dual OS Support, Windows 10 and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Aside from the software update, the tablet is the same with the previous Dual OS (windows 8.1 and KitKat). The tablet also features built in 3G Module and a iPad Air Design.

At it’s core is a Snappy Intel Atom Z3736F Quad Core processor, a higher clocked version of the Atom series. Accompanying this is 2 GB RAM and 64 eMMC storage. The Tablet supports switching of OS, but needs to be restarted or shutdown before changing from one OS to the other.

Furthermore, the tablet natively supports up to 4K video Playback and video output up to 1080p via HDMI Port, the battery is the same 8000mAh capacity which can last up to 7 hours of continuous usage. Although usage times may vary depending on demand and OS used. Windows 10 has a faster battery drain time compared to Android.

Overall, the X98 Air 3G win 10 really doesn’t offer hardware changes, except for the updated Windows 10 OS. The Tablet also supports Keyboard but unfortunately doesn’t come with the package.  If you want a Windows 10 only tablet with a Faster Processor and better graphics, then the Teclast X98 pro would be a better choice. But for Dual OS support, especially Android, then the X98 Air is still a good choice.

  1. Hi Vince, Thanks for all of your helpful info! I am struggling to understand which of the current dual-boot Win10 tablets will work best in the US? I would really rather have 8 inch than 9.7 inch but cannot find one with “real 3G” or built-in 3G. Does “phone-only” in Android mean that you can’t use the browser in Android? Does it need to work at 1700/2100 and not just 2100 to load at 3G speeds here? Recent US reviews of Onda complain about slow wifi, but Amazon doesn’t seem to have heard of Teclast at all; I wonder if that means Teclast really is not suited to the US? Thanks,

    1. Hello Wyndy,

How about the Huawei M2, it’s 8 inches and natively supports 4G LTE. http://www.bestchinatablets.com/huawei-mediapad-m2-all-metal-4g-tablet/
Between Onda and teclast, i prefer the latter in terms of performance and reliability. The frequencies stated may work depending on your carrier. However, as per experience, most frequencies work mostly on asian region carriers.

Android: Phone Functionality (Text and call) + Data
Win10: only works on Data (internet only), no calls available

      Best Regards,

      1. Thanks for the Review Vincent ,
        I have 2 queries :
        1) Since it is dual OS , now comes with wndows 10 & Android 5.1 ,
How much space is available for user in windows 10 & how much in Android ?
        2) I see that on many websites teclast 3G has Z3735F instead of Z3736 F ,
Any Idea if Z3735 models have GPS or not
i am looking for Teclast retina Display models with 32/64 GB Memory and 4 GB RAM (would b good to have) and Cherry tail Processor ( Prefrably ) which have GPS (Mandatory) and call facility wud be bonus for me 🙂
Dual OS is not Mandatory , only Android Models are fine
i wish Air 3G had 4 GB RAM & better processor, i wud have grabbed it right away even if it was 20$ more expensive ( my budget is about 200$ )

Could you please suggest any Teclast model for this

  2. I´m looking for a GPS-Tablet. Wich of the Teclast have it?
    The X98 Air 3g oder the X98 plus/pro?
And wich model has the best performance and accu?

It is sooo difficult to find the perfect model

    1. Hello Stefan,

GPS is a rarity for most Chinese made tablets, but Huawei has this on their tablets but most of their tablets are quite pricy. Anyway, the 3G support is limited to the frequencies supported, in this regard, it may not work on your carrier, which is a cause of concern.

      Best Regards,
