Chinese Tablet maker Teclast has launched their new line of 2 in one Tablets or Ultrabooks. Similar naming schemes with Voyo’s Vbook, the Teclast Tbook series will have 4 different variants but all of them will have the same hardware but differ only in the screen size, also a similar concept to Voyo.
The Teclast Tbook series are convertible Tablets or Ultrabooks that packs 4 GB RAM and Intel Atom Cherry Trail X5-8300 Chipset, apparently, there are 4 variants available, but the major difference only lies on the Display size.
Tbook 10 – 10.1 inch
Tbook 11 – 10.6 inch
Tbook 12 – 12.2 inch
Tbook 16 – 11.6 inch
On the other hand, the Tbook 16 will offer dual boot support and will also come in three variants:
Teclast X16 Standard version with Keyboard Cover
Teclast X16s packs Surface Style Keyboard
Teclast X16 Pro (Transformer Style) detachable keyboard
I personally think, this is a direct competition to Voyo’s Vbook series, which offers pretty much the same hardware on all their variants. It seems Chinese tablet manufacturers are trending towards laptops or Ultrabooks, and most are strayed away from standard tablet sizes and going forward for 11 to 13 inch sizes.
My first impression, Teclast could have diversified more in their variants, adding Intel Core M on their premium models, considering most tablets nowadays used the Cherry Trail Z8300, which is a decent chipset, but in terms of power, you would likely be looking for more.
