I recently unboxed the Teclast T10 and was surprised at how good this tablet is. The 2.5K Fully Laminated screen really caught my eye. But that’s not all, the tablet overall is worth every penny.

Great mid range tablet but the screen really caught my eye

The Teclast T10 is a mid range tablet and the hardware bares close resemblance to the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3. But what really gets my attention was the screen, it is perhaps one of the best features of this tablet. Another is the 13 mp front camera, like Wow, I was caught off guard with the above average front camera, you don’t normally see that on any tablet, much more a mid-tier budget tablet. Moreover, performance is fairly decent and I do love the minimalistic or non bloated OS. Connectivity is excellent also. The system so far is stable, running smoothly, but I did experience occasional sluggishness and lags in between.

The Fingerprint Scanner placement though is a bit weird, fortunately, it is reliable. I think, it would have been better to place it on the home key. Anyway, that is just a minor issue. Overall, having used this tablet for only a couple of hours, I can say that I am impressed with this tablet, and highly recommend it for buying.

Note: battery life, gaming and camera tests will be on my full review or another view following this.

First Impressions:

  • All Aluminum build, premium quality with rounded edges giving it great ergonomics
  • The screen is dead gorgeous, probably one of the best screen I have tested this year on a tablet
  • Great screen sensitivity, no delayed response and accurate responses
  • 10.1 inch 2560 x 1600p Fully Laminated Screen with 320dpi and good brightness levels, no light bleed
  • The 13 mp camera has awesome quality, I was really surprised with the quality when I tested it
  • Minimalistic OS and UI (user interface), not bloated, clean with smooth performance
  • Runs the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with Support for Updates via TeclastOTA
  • Touch of Native Android is still there
  • Fingerprint Scanner is accurate, fast and reliable
  • Dual Band WiFi Support (so far no connection issues, it is also fast and stable)
  • Good screen for web browsing
  • Performance is good overall, similar benchmark scores to the Xiaomi MiPad 3 but only far more stable OS
  • Great overall loudspeaker performance, 3.5mm Audio Quality is also a lot better
  • 3.5mm Audio is clean, no static or interference
  • Comes with built in GPS support
  • 8100mAh battery (charge via MicroUSB 2.0) – Battery life will be on my full review

Correction: I thought it was a Simcard slot, It is TF Card Slot (apologize for mistake)

Some Cons:

  • No App Draw
  • Awkward place of the Fingerprint Scanner
  • No USB Type C Port
  • Limited Ports
  • There are instances of sluggishness especially on the drop down notification menu

Full Gaming Test and Temps

The video above is my full gaming test and temps. I was really surprised on how it performs throughout my test. Considering it has a very high 2.5K resolution display, it manages to run all games playable. I think the only game that the tablet struggled is Asphalt 8, the fps were a bit choppy. Check out the video above for more information:

Highlights of the Gaming Test:

  • Amazing performance on gaming
  • Great multitasking performance
  • Idle temps range at 35-40C
  • Temps after gaming or  heavy use (can reach as high as 79C on prolong gaming)
  • So far there is no thermal throttling
  • Overall Gaming Performance is great
