Teclast Master T8 – Is it smaller and much better than the Teclast Master T10?

This is not yet a review, but it explores in depth the comparison between the Teclast Master T10 and T8, and what improvements or changes can we expect with it.

Teclast calls the new Master T8 as Born to game, and you can tell it is meant to be played on.

Similarities of the Teclast Master T10 and Teclast Master T8

  • The same Chipset and hardware, Memory and Storage support
  • Oleophobic Coating, Anti-Fingerprint
  • Both tablets still uses the same impressive 13 mp Samsung Camera Sensor at front
  • Uses the same Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box
  • Display is similar, with Eye Care
  • Dual Band WiFi support

What changes can you expect with the Teclast Master T8?

  • It comes with a home button combo also with a Front Touch ID
  • USB Type C at the top corner
  • Smaller 5400mAh battery but supports Quick Charging via PE 2.0 (USB Type C)
  • Different orientation, 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Although I am not honestly a fan of this type of ratio.
  • Speakers are all downward facing
  • MicroSD Card slot is at the bottom (middle area) and said to support up to 64 GB
  • The design is changed a bit, tapered or rounded corners
  • No Mini HDMI Port (they apparently removed this Port)

If this tablet comes available, i will be reviewing it soon. But one thing is clear, it looks very promising. I do like the Teclast Master T10 and I hope the new smaller Teclast T8 is much better.

    1. Yes, they have the same aspect ratio. What I meant was the orientation (Landscape), placement of the speakers, camera etc… I edited it, sorry for the confusion

  1. I have the T10 which I like a lot, though the ridiculous placement of the fingerprint sensor (which also acts as a home button and is far too easily accidentally pressed!) on the back was maddening, so nice to see the T8 fixes this. I have the T10 folio case that Gearbest sell and it annoyingly sleeps the T10 if you extend the rear cover all the way to the top rear of the T10 while using the tablet, so I hope the T8 case fixes this.

My only big criticism of the T10 – and it might apply to the T8 too – is that although we’ve had an Oct 2017 software update already, it didn’t upgrade Android (still at 7.0, rather than either 7.1.2 or 8.0) and, even worse, the Android security patch level remained way behind at April 2017.

    1. Hello Valerima,

When I inserted the card, it protrudes a little as shown on the video, so I could now close it properly. I could have forced it but I don’t want to break the card or the adapter. I will try other cards on it.

      Best Regards,
