Chinese manufacturer “Jumper” isn’t a newcomer to the Tablet industry, in fact, they have been silent for quite some time. Personally, the last time I’ve heard of the brand was with the Jumper EZpad 4s, a BayTrail based tablet. Is this a comeback? more likely, and is one of the first to touch the Surface Pro likeness category, although the Chuwi Hi12 did it with the same screen ratio, the EZpad 5s is the first to fully copy the Surface Pro tablet design including the Keyboard layout and Stand. Judging from the early pics, it looks like a carbon copy.
In terms of hardware, the likeness ends there, it is equipped with Intel Atom Cherry Trail X5-8300 Quad Core processor and 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM, the same specs you will find on most tablets in the market nowadays. Thus, hardware wise, it doesn’t offer anything new. It would have made a better impact if it came with Intel Core M instead of Atom, which is decent but always leaves you wanting more.
So what will you expect of the EZpad 5s? “My Impression”
Firstly, performance will be decent but nothing impressive, and secondly, basically, what you get is a Surface Pro Shell. Another thing, the keyboard is optional and unfortunately price is bit steeper than i expected. Without the keyboard, then it is just another Cherry Trail Tablet, but with the tablet, it resembles the Surface Pro. Since the hardware is questionable, what could have edge the tablet from the rest or even the Chuwi Hi12 , would be a cheaper and more affordable pricing.
