Chinese manufacturer “Jumper” isn’t a newcomer to the Tablet industry, in fact, they have been silent for quite some time. Personally, the last time I’ve heard of the brand was with the Jumper EZpad 4s, a BayTrail based tablet. Is this a comeback? more likely, and is one of the first to touch the Surface Pro likeness category, although the Chuwi Hi12 did it with the same screen ratio, the EZpad 5s is the first to fully copy the Surface Pro tablet design including the Keyboard layout and Stand. Judging from the early pics, it looks like a carbon copy.

Modest Specs

In terms of hardware, the likeness ends there, it is equipped with Intel Atom Cherry Trail X5-8300 Quad Core processor and 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM, the same specs you will find on most tablets in the market nowadays. Thus, hardware wise, it doesn’t offer anything new. It would have made a better impact if it came with Intel Core M instead of Atom, which is decent but always leaves you wanting more.

So what will you expect of the EZpad 5s? “My Impression”

Firstly, performance will be decent but nothing impressive, and secondly, basically, what you get is a Surface Pro Shell. Another thing, the keyboard is optional and unfortunately price is bit steeper than i expected. Without the keyboard, then it is just another Cherry Trail Tablet, but with the tablet, it resembles the Surface Pro. Since the hardware is questionable, what could have edge the tablet from the rest or even the Chuwi Hi12 , would be a cheaper and more affordable pricing.

    • Hello Mandalin,

Not really, Intel HD gen 8 isn’t great at gaming, LOL probably 25 to 30 fps at best or more if you tweak it more. On the other hand, Dota 2 experience will likely be unpleasant, although it reaches 30 fps, fps is usually unstable. Speaking of experience from the Intel Cherry Trail X5-8500 chipset.

      Best Regards,
      Vince

  1. Hi Vince

Thanks for feedback, can you recommend a tablet where i can play LoL in good condition ?
From design point of view i like a lot the Jumper EZpad 53 but i also think is not good enough for LoL
So what can you recommend in this price range of maximum 350-400 USD

  2. Hi,

    Just a quick question.
Imagine you had Jumper Ezpad 5s and Chuwi Hi12 for the same price… what would you choose??

    • Hello Fernando,

The Chuwi Hi12 seems a better choice, i mean the screen ratio is similar to the Surface Pro

      Best Regards,
      Vince

      • Hi Vince!

        Thanks for the reply!
And what about the quality of construction?
I know the Chuwi has a better resolution, but, besides that, the Jumper seems to have a better quality. Is it so or is it just my illusion/imagination? 🙂

        Best regards!!

        • Hello Fernando,

In terms of build quality, Chuwi has built a good reputation especially with the new tablets that have come out. On the other hand, i can’t attest the build quality of Jumper, since the brand has been quite for quite a long time. The Jumper EZpad 5s is probably it’s comeback tablet of 2016. Chuwi, along with Cube, and Teclast have been on a competitive grind on making their own name in the tablet market. So far, there are no issues with build quality especially with the Chuwi Hi12.

          Best Regards,
          Vince

          • I was enjoying more the Jumper’s look…. even so, I prefer to go for a safe shot!

Thanks for the help… I’ll look at the Chuwi Hi12 or the Chuwi Hi10 again. 🙂

          • Hello Fernando,

Yes, in terms of look, the Jumper almost 1:1 of the Surface Pro look. But i think the display ratio is the same as with any other Cherry Trail tablets available.

            Best Regards,
            Vince

  3. Hi Vince,

I was looking at purchasing the Jumper EZpad 5s and wanted to know how the specs stack up against say the Surface Pro 3 or 4.

    • Hello Ken,

In terms of performance, the the Jumper EZpad 5s is performs more or less similar to the Teclast X98 Plus, Teclast X98 Pro or the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2.Intel Atom Cherry Trail is a decent chip, but it isn’t really a powerhouse processor compared to Core M.

      Best Regards,
      Vince

  4. My Junior EZPad 5S arrived without a Power Supply. I am trying to get this resolved with Chinese seller.

As this is tedious at best, if I have to buy my own Mains P.S. what is the DC connector to the EZPad. I cannot find it documented anywhere, and it is smaller than any I have previously seen?

    Any help appreciated
