The new Chuwi Vi8 Plus, let me rephrase that, the “Reboot Chuwi Vi8 Plus“. You might be seeing plenty of reboots now and then, and this one is also a perfect example. The only change is the new Cherry Trail X5-Z8300 Processor underneath and surprisingly only comes with Windows 10 instead of the Dual OS version of the previous generation.
On the other hand, the tablet now comes with USB type C connector (reversible). The tablet also sports a not so stellar 720p HD display, which is a far lower than other tablets with Retina Displays but quite understandable considering the price it’s in (Sub$100) and also the screen size. 720p is enough for the 8.0 inch size screen, and the lowered resolution will help indeed in terms of gaming. As it will not overtax the CPU.
In terms of build and construction, as i mentioned earlier, it doesn’t differ much from the BayTrail version, with a “PLUS” engraving on the back shell. For a sub$100 tablet, you should be expecting a tablet build, and this is particularly true, although the frame is Aluminum. The tablet also houses a 4000mAh battery which is rated at 3-4 hours of typical use.
A Cheap Cherry Trail Tablet
If you are looking for a Sub$100 Cherry Trail tablet, the Chuwi Vi8 Plus should be on your alley. Although it might not be a significant upgrade to last year. But still it has Cherry Trail on it. And also windows 10 per-installed.
