ALLDOCUBE Freer X9 – 8.9 inch Tablet with 2.5K OGS Display

The Alldocube Freer X9 is a budget Mid-end Tablet that offers a superb 2.5K OGS screen similar to the Teclast T10. But on a much smaller package. Is it better?

2.5K Fully Laminated Screen

Basing on the images above, you can see that the Alldocube Freer X9 has quite unorthodox placement of its ports. The Loudspeakers in particular are at different places, one at the top and the other at the bottom. Antenna bands for the Dual Band 2.4/5GHz WiFi appear to be at the top,  along with the TF Card Slot. At the bottom is the USB Type C port and the 3.5mm Audio Port at the corner.

Anyway, it is also clear that the main rival of the Alldocube Freer X9 is the Teclast T10

Here is a crude comparison between the Teclast T10 versus ALLDOCUBE Freer X9

Main Differences between the two

The Alldocube Freer X9 has a much smaller screen at 8.9 inches but the same 2560 x 1600 pixels OGS, it  supports USB Type C and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The smaller package also means a much smaller 5500mah battery. I am still interested to know if the Android 6.0 is upgradable and also how it will perform on gaming and thermals.

The Teclast T10 has a bigger 10.1 inch screen and the same 2560 x 1600 pixel OGS screen. It only comes with MicroUSB 2.0 for charging and data but does come with a larger 8100mAh battery. It also comes with Fingerprint ID at the back. In addition, I do like the minimalistic and clean layout and barely no bloatware in the system and it also runs stable. Anyway, I have this tablet and I am impressed with it. It offers very good performance, clean OS that runs table and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Another Budget Mid-end Tablet with a Whopping 2.5K Screen

Most probably in response to the popularity of the Teclast T10, Cube also released their very own mid end Tablet, and it comes in a much smaller package with the same 2560 x 1600p Ultra High Resolution Fully Laminated Screen. It will also come with a Midtier Mediatek MT8173 chip, a similar variant to the Teclast T10, which from experience offers great gaming and decent overall performance. From the looks of it, the Alldocube Freer X9 is a slightly cheaper and Smaller version of the Teclast T10. The features offered are very similar, hopefully it would edge out the Teclast T10 on other aspects aside from specs.
